Xponsor or Weezevent: which ticketing platform for an event in West Africa?

Weezevent is a European event-ticketing and on-site event-technology platform, built for organisers selling card-paid tickets in euros, pounds, Swiss francs or Canadian dollars. Xponsor is a West African platform where Billetterie - ticketing - is free with no commission at all, and where your audience pays in FCFA by mobile money - MTN MoMo, Moov Money, Celtiis Cash, Mixx by Yas and more. This page is for you if your event happens in Benin or francophone Africa and you are still weighing up the two.

The short version

  • On Xponsor, ticketing is free: no commission on the tickets you sell. Opening an account and publishing an event costs nothing, and there is no subscription. The other Xponsor products - fundraisers, contests and support - each have their own rate, listed on the Pricing page.
  • Weezevent bills online ticketing as a commission per ticket rather than a monthly plan: “2,5% / billet vendu en ligne, minimum de 0,99 € TTC”, with no subscription and no commitment, and “Free for free events” (official pricing page, read 20 July 2026).
  • Xponsor collects in FCFA (XOF), by mobile money (MTN MoMo, Moov Money, Celtiis Cash, Mixx by Yas and more), through our payment provider. The Weezevent help page on accepted payment methods names only Visa and MasterCard by default, plus American Express, PayPal and Klarna as optional activations - no African mobile-money provider appears on it.
  • Weezevent is still the better pick for a European or Canadian event paid by card, especially one that needs allocated seating, official ticket resale or on-site cashless. Xponsor plays on different ground: a West African audience paying by mobile money.

Xponsor and Weezevent, point by point

Subscription and fixed fees

Xponsor

Weezevent
No subscription either: Weezevent states “No subscription, no commitment” and “No set up fees, banking fees included”. Free events are free.

Payment methods

Xponsor

Weezevent
On its dedicated help page, Weezevent states that “By default, the accepted payment methods are Visa and MasterCard”, with “American Express, PayPal, or Klarna” available as optional activations. No African mobile-money provider is named there, and Klarna is limited to buyers in a defined list of European countries.

Currencies

Xponsor
FCFA (XOF).
Weezevent
Published rates are given in EUR, CAD, CHF and GBP. FCFA (XOF) does not appear on any of the public Weezevent pages we read - and we found no page that explicitly rules it out either.

Door check-in

Xponsor
Included: an instant QR ticket and access control at the door, at no extra cost.
Weezevent
Included as well: WeezTicket lists “Native access control integration”, and Access Control (WeezAccess) is listed as free on the pricing page.

Tooling for very large events

Xponsor
Multiple ticket types, secure mobile-money payment, and a paid promotion option to push the event in front of more people. No allocated seating, no cashless.
Weezevent
WeezTicket lists 2D / 3D allocated seating, virtual queuing, ticket resale and white label. Cashless is a separate paid product: “Cashless Payment (WeezPay)” shows at €1,20 in the EUR column of the pricing page, while Access Control and Marketing & CRM are listed there as free.

What it fundamentally is

Xponsor
One account, five products: Billetterie, fundraisers, contests, “J'y serai” badges and support - built for Benin, francophone Africa and the diaspora.
Weezevent
A European ticketing and on-site event-technology platform: ticketing, access control, cashless and staff management, for organisers selling card-paid tickets.

Which platform to choose

Xponsor

When to choose Xponsor

Xponsor's case is narrower and different: an audience in Benin and francophone Africa paying in FCFA by mobile money - MTN MoMo, Moov Money, Celtiis Cash or Mixx by Yas - without ever reaching for a bank card. There, ticketing gives you multiple ticket types, a QR ticket issued instantly, check-in at the door and an optional paid promotion for your event, with no commission on tickets at all. The same account then carries the rest of what you do: a fundraiser with one-off or recurring donations and real-time tracking, a contest with paid voting and a live ranking, “J'y serai” badges in your own colours to spread the word, and one-click support from your fans - each product with its own rate, charged only on money actually received, and nothing to pay to open an account.

Weezevent

When to choose Weezevent

If your event and its audience sit in Europe or Canada and pay by card, Weezevent is simply the right call. It is a mature, established platform with no subscription, a per-ticket commission that stays free for free events, and a depth of festival-grade tooling that Xponsor's ticketing does not attempt: 2D / 3D allocated seating, virtual queuing, official ticket resale, white-label sales pages, on-site cashless (WeezPay, priced per transaction) and staff and accreditation management, all with 24/7 support. If you are selling reserved seats in a venue in Paris, Geneva, London or Montreal, or running a multi-day festival with cashless bars and accreditations, Weezevent is built for exactly that - and Xponsor is not.

Free events are free, and revenue is paid to the organiser every 15 days. The published rate varies by currency: 2.75% + $0.99 in CAD, 2.5% + CHF 0.99 in CHF and 2.5% + £0.99 in GBP. Can buyers pay by mobile money, with MTN MoMo or Moov Money?

On Xponsor, yes: payments run through our payment provider, by mobile money (MTN MoMo, Moov Money, Celtiis Cash, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money, Free Money), in FCFA (XOF). On the Weezevent side, its help page on accepted payment methods states that Visa and MasterCard are accepted by default, with American Express, PayPal and Klarna available as optional activations - no African mobile-money provider is named there, and Klarna is “only available for buyers in certain countries (Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands)”. We found no Weezevent page listing FCFA among its currencies, and none that explicitly excludes it.

What happens to the Weezevent commission if an order is refunded?

According to Weezevent's help page on refunding participants, the commission remains owed: “il est expressément convenu entre les Parties que la Rémunération restera due en toutes circonstances”, and “Les frais de re-crédit, d'un montant de 2€ HT par commande, viennent en complément” - a re-credit fee of €2 excluding tax per order, on top (read 20 July 2026). Its help page on fees also shows the commission being deducted from the organiser's proceeds. On Xponsor the question does not arise in the same way: ticketing takes no commission on the tickets sold.
